Why does it look like that? Who built it? What material was it made of and why? What do Munich, Hamburg and Marseille have in common? Why did Le Corbusier build his biggest housing machine in Marseille? What is behind the beige colour of the houses? And why are there so many hotels in Aix?
The art, architecture and history tours are designed as open, analytical and dialogue-based tours. Short city tours of Marseille and the surrounding area, as well as special tours, provide an overview or delve deeper into specific topics. For example, Marseille under National Socialism or the end of the Algerian War. I also ask whether Marseille and Hamburg are perfect twins and shed light on the colonial style of the two harbour cities. Art tours in the footsteps of Della Robbia and street art tours to Banksy, Invader, JP and co are also part of my programme. Sculpture tours and tours of the works of Puget, Le Corbusier, Poullion and Foster are also available. You can also explore the harbour city from antiquity to the present day – from barges to cruise ships. Or from Panisses to slush ice. Studio visits, gallery tours and tours of the best galleries, museums and foundations round off my varied programme.
